This question was asked on a shooting forum a few days ago, and it got me thinking. The poster on the forum said, “Why do I have to go to the shooting range above the shooting range, and what’s the difference?” I shot both personally so I know my own reasons. What are some of the reasons why you should consider going to a shooting range at a rifle range?
I should start by saying that if you specifically want to shoot a gun, you have to head straight to the gun range. Throwing darts and bullets are similar, but also very different. However, if I’m on the fence, there are a few things I think set this experience apart.
Line: I can’t speak for all rifle ranges, because they all vary in size, but at a shooting range, you shouldn’t expect a line. Most ranges will have a wide open area for archers and their archers. The range I go to has 8 lanes. During the week, you can shoot for as long as you want. Gun ranges tend to have reservation policies, or they will have lines.
it costs: Depending on the type of shooting you do, gun ranges can charge anywhere from $15 to $20 just to get in the door — per hour. After that, you have to pay for the rental of ammunition and weapons. This price can add up quickly. Most shooting ranges charge anywhere between $15-25 for shooting experience. This instructable includes everything you need to hit the range. You should get $25 in rent for all the equipment you need plus an hour lesson with trained staff.
service: I can only talk to my local domain service. On my own domain, I can be sure that I will always get the training and attention I need. Whenever I have a technical question it is dealt with quickly. If you’re looking for a local shooting range, I’d suggest using a website like Yelp before heading out. This is how I found my assortment, and I can say that I am satisfied with my choice.
Kid friendlykisa: This is not a scary spot. When you’re shooting a crossbow at most ranges, you won’t have to worry about recoil, earplugs, or safety goggles. Shooters at the shooting range must be over 18 years old, and some require shooters to be over 21 years old. Most shooting ranges will allow children to shoot as long as they are over 8 years old.
The benefits I came to have had to do with my local shooting range and the gun ranges I’ve been using lately. I don’t think this applies to every shooting range. However, it applies to many of the ranges I visited around Southern California. Thematic fonts are for your area. Cost, service and atmosphere are objective based on my experience.
